Conserve energy - let the sun shine
Compared with lighter construction materials, logs store more solar energy.
Honka Fusion™ homes make it easy to use the free energy that the sun provides. In spring and autumn when the sun is low on the horizon, the log walls warm up. During the night, the logs slowly release this warmth through the walls in the house, saving on heating bills. In summer, this works the other way round. When the sun is high in the sky, the eaves and porch canopies protect the wall from the heat. In a well-designed wood house, the coolness of summer nights is stored in the massive wood walls. This maintains the interior temperature at a pleasant level even on hot days.
